For all of us floral lovers. This peony (or rose?!) features a rich peachy pink opalescent glass, a vintage streaky green for the leaves and wire details. As the glass is fairly opaque, ideally a sunny window would be the place for this piece. However don’t let me tell you what to do. The pink one I made for myself is hanging on my bathroom wall!
Each piece of glass is cut by hand, any flanges removed with a glass grinder. Each individual piece of glass is then wrapped in copper foil, and soldered together with 60/40 solder. This piece is wrapped in lead came on the perimeter and tinned copper wire details in the leaves. After cleaning it is treated with a black patina to darken the solder beads and then waxed and buffed to a high shine. It is strung with black jewelry chain, ready to hang. Measures approximately 10” x 8”
Each stained glass item is handmade, and therefor each piece is unique. Art glass has imperfection and “seeds”, which add to the beauty and light play so loved in stained glass. Please handle with care and keep out of reach of children.
