❤️ This powerful image symbolizes the burning love of Christ to some. For others it is a symbol of past suffering, love of oneself and rebirth. This sacred heart is made with a heavily textured red glass for the heart and various flame-like art glass for the fire. The barbed wire was hand made by me and is soldered on. It would look beautiful hanging in a window or a gallery wall.
❤️🔥 Each piece of glass is cut by hand, any flanges removed with a glass grinder. Each individual piece of glass is then wrapped in copper foil, and soldered together with 60/40 solder. This piece is bordered completely in lead came to provide strength and a smooth finish. After cleaning, a black patina is applied to the solder seams. It is then waxed and buffed to a high shine. It is strung with a gunmetal grey chain, ready to hang. This piece measures approximately 4 1/2" x 7"
✨ Each stained glass item is handmade, and therefor each piece is unique. Art glass has imperfection and “seeds”, which add to the beauty and light play so loved in stained glass. Please handle with care and keep out of reach of children.
