💙 The Hamsa (also called Hand of Fatima, Khamsa, or Hand of Miriam) is a talisman from the ancient Middle East. It is thought though that the Hamsa predates both Judaism and Islam, but ultimately there is no certainty about its origins.
🧿 Traditionally when displayed with the fingers down, the Hamsa is said to let more goodness, luck, fertility and abundance into your life. When facing up, it is a powerful symbol of protection against the Evil Eye and negative energy.
💎 The Evil Eye jewels are made by hand in Turkey using recycled broken glassware and mixed with the artist’s own recipe of opal, zinc and cobalt to produce the bright colours. Each Evil Eye jewel is unique, and being made by hand may have small bubbles or imperfections. Please refer to the photos to see the examples.
🐟 This suncatcher is 7” tall and 5” wide, made with quality art glass and an Evil Eye glass jewel. Each piece of glass is hand cut, wrapped with copper foil, soldered together with 60/40 solder and finished with black patina and waxed and buffed to a high shine. It’s hung with fine black jewellery chain and is ready to be displayed in a window or on a wall.
🌎 Each suncatcher is handmade, and therefor each piece is unique. Art glass has imperfection and “seeds”, which add to the beauty and light play so loved in stained glass. Please handle with care and keep out of reach of children.
