A spooky and beautiful piece of stained glass art, this coffin features a brass Noble Lion and textured amber glass. Amber glass is absolutely one of my favourites to work with. It matches any decor, it suggests an antique look no matter the subject and it looks fabulous in any light!
Each piece of glass is cut by hand, any flanges removed with a glass grinder. Each individual piece of glass is then wrapped in copper foil, and soldered together with 60/40 solder. This piece is finished with a lead came border for added stability and a clean finished look. After cleaning, a black patina is applied to the solder seams. It is then waxed and buffed to a high shine. It is strung with black fine jewelry chain, ready to hang. This piece measures 3 3/4" x 7 1/4"
Each stained glass item is handmade, and therefor each piece is unique. Art glass has imperfection and “seeds”, which add to the beauty and light play so loved in stained glass. Please handle with care and keep out of reach of children.
